Praise God!!!!! We got an official court date today!!!! We are to appear tomorrow (Thursday) at 2 pm. Please pray that everything goes smoothly and that we answer well. The judge will be asking us quite a few questions. It is expected to be very routine, unless we tell them about the Cherry Pizza "incident," that is.

Tomorrow is also the day we will say "goodbye" to Anastasia and Jonathan until we return to bring them home. The interpreter will come with us to the orphanage to help explain what is going to happen. Pray for clear communication and trust that we will be back to get them.

Again we want to thank everyone for your prayers. God has helped us get through this time as he has also deepened our trust and dependence on him. Praise Him!!!

Please begin praying as well for the return trip and for a loving foundation to be established in our growing family.

Michael, is there someone we can meet when we are in San Diego? Maybe a contractor or carpenter?

  3. This is great news and as I write this, you guys are probably already in court saying how wonderful you are and these kids deserve a chance at a new life. I followed a blog months back from Dr. David who adopted older kids and the one thing that stuck out about his court experience is when the judge said "and no one wants them" and then he said these people do and I here by grant there petition to adopt X & Y. Guess what, we want them and we are going to the ends of the earth to bring them home. Why Ukraine and not right in our back yards. I don't know but its where God has called us to be. Safe travels home tomorrow!
